Today Jamie is recommending Hiroshima by John Hersey. Published in 1946, it documents the experiences of six survivors of the atomic bomb — a piece of journalism that changed how the world saw nuclear warfare. We have a copy with a rare dust jacket available in the shop now, just ask for it at the front desk. Jamie also wanted to shoutout the book Fallout: The Hiroshima Cover-up and the Reporter Who Revealed It to the World by Lesley Blume. It tells the story of John Hersey and how he revealed the devastating effects of the atom bomb.

Our book buying guidelines are as follows:
We make appointments over the phone or by email (Twicesoldtales1@yahoo.com). If you have less than 2 bags worth and are looking for cash we accept walk-ins Mon-Thurs 11:30-4:30. If you have less than 2 bags and are looking for credit you can come in whenever! If you have more than 2 bags please make an appointment.
Please note that priority goes to customers shopping in the store and those with appointments. Also, we do not make appointments over Instagram.

Jamie explaining the history of this cat tree! It was made in the 90s and originally stood at Twice Sold Tales' old location on E John St (now where the link light rail is). When the shop moved to its current location Jamie brought it along with her. Come check it out next time you're in the shop 🐈

The time has come for us to say goodbye to this beautiful rose bush that has been outside the shop since 2009. It was given to TST owner Jamie Lutton by one of David Foster Wallace's friends 6 months after he died. It served as a memorial for his life. Unfortunately the building we are in has decided to remove all the plants outside. So, today the rose bush is being uprooted and taken to Jamie's home in Shoreline. More pictures to come once it's settled into its new home. We'll miss you, lovely rose bush🥀♥️

To remove stickers: apply lighter fluid and let it sit a few minutes before peeling.
To clean off dirt: give the book (or a paper towel) a quick spray of Windex, then immediately wipe clean.

At Twice Sold Tales, we have rooms upon rooms of used books - there are several nooks and crannies to explore and stumble onto your next read! You may also come across one (or more) of our live-in bookstore cats; Lily, Buster, Screamer, James, Pepperjack and Myrtle. We are open 7 days a week and offer store credit for trade-ins.
